The Villa
A house with many lives.
From a nineteenth-century guesthouse to the valley’s clinic, and now a cultural residence once more. The story of Villa Beaulieu is the story of the valley itself.
The Story
A House Through Time

1868
Built as Pension Joos
Built as Pension Joos in the middle of St. Moritz, the house began as a mountain lodging for travellers in the Engadin.
1926
The house became Villa Beaulieu
The house was later renamed Villa Beaulieu, a French name meaning “the beautiful place.”

1941 — 2023
The alpine Klinik Gut
In 1941, the house entered a new chapter when it became home to Klinik Gut, a local hospital that served the St. Moritz community for more than eighty years.
2023 — 2025
The house stood empty
Then the house stood empty, until construction began at the end of 2025.

2026
The work began
What came next was a revival: one of St. Moritz’s old houses brought back into use.
Today
It is being reawakened
Thirteen rooms. One frozen lake. A kitchen open to guests, a bar that stays late, and a calendar shaped by the valley.
